Last week we arrived in Heathrow, in London, after over an hour wait in immigration and customs, to our dear friends.
Such an easy arrival to a new place. Nothing like last time we traveled to another continent. This time, Mac was waiting for us in the airport. He knew exactly where to go and what to do. Such an easy arrival… oh my!
We got up at 4am to arrive in London at 11pm of that same day. Didn’t seem like it should be a long day. I’ve done that before. But not without the lack of sleep on the previous night (or in the airplane) or traveling across the continent and over the ocean and the excitement and anticipation of this trip.
With a cup of tea and some biscuits, sandwich and fruit, a grassy back yard, the beginning of lots of catching up, made us realize at once, our eyes were heavy and we had gone far away from home.
By now, it’s been 24 hours since we left our home with no more than an hour or two of sleep for some of us (not the best seat in the plane.) We headed to the train station, to find our hotel, and discover the city of London. Or at least our neighborhood.
