We found what we were looking for, and we have our shelves stocked for the year. Once at home, I washed it, blanched it and froze it in ice cube trays for future use. The rest we dried them outside in screens. I wrote how I keep the nettle in a post last year.
It was a fun day outside.
Look at that sky… the beautiful clouds up there accumulating, rolling over us. Grays, white, blacks, silver. What a sight. I do love the changes in the colors throughout the seasons, and how green everything is here thanks to all the water that surrounds us and covers us for many months of the year.
I feel lucky we can be here. Enjoying all this nature and its gifts.
Being able to raise our kids enjoying all of this.
This day, nettle picking, a tradition we enjoy at the moment, and remember as we sip our nettle tea all year long. I feel so lucky.
