Last week …

Last week so very different for us.  Last week…

… Mark went back to work after having him all to ourselves for 9 weeks.  How lucky we are.  How lucky we are.

… I felt spoiled for a beautiful summer vacation and this awesome husband of mine.

… we had a special guest for few days, and it is always so much fun to have her.

… we went to the beach for the day.  Our only ocean beach summer day.  We are not much of beach people I guess.  It was fun though.

… Siena and Lucas got to listen Nancy and Plum in just a couple of days.  Read by someone special and such a great reader, and a fun story.  Thank you Glendie!

… we went to the swimming pool few more times to enjoy the last days of our pool being open.  All the way to the last hour of being open.

… I loved the rain we got.  And laughed when Siena asked to leave her windows open at night so she can listen to the rain on the roof.

… had banana split.

… I cleaned and dusted shelves and drawers in the kitchen.

… I’m cleaning my desk.  Not done yet, and not quite ready for fall and our homeschool year.  I’m glad we are still taking few more days.

… we each had a medium size snow cone to finish off summer and the last pool day.

… had a bonfire in the backyard.

… we tried the fermented pickles, sauerkraut and beans.  They are tasting good.

…  we picked from the garden:

  • 1 lb of green beans
  • 9 1/2 lb tomatoes
  • 4 cucumber
  • 2 zucchinis
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow squash

… we cleaned some more, the toys, the play house, the rooms, the clothes, etc.

… we missed Mark.  So we went to help him to get his room ready.  That’s always fun to go to his classroom and see where he’ll be spending his days.

… we went to the lake again with our friends and enjoyed beautiful days. A beautiful way to finish our summer.

It seems that summer is over on this side of the fence and we are getting used to not having Mark at home all day, every day.  We are also getting ready to start our new rhythm, as we talk about what we want this fall to look like.  We’ll get there I know.  But we still have few more days of summer playing to do.
