We had fun last week with friends.
Last year of course, we missed Halloween because we were in India, but actually we ended up celebrating it in a different way. Some friends sent us candy from here, and a few Halloween decorations and costume pieces, and we shared them with our friends at the school.
We had just returned from our camping trip up to the foothills of the Himalayas for a week, and had become closer friends with the boys (and girls) from the sixth class.
We took our sweet loot, and hats to share with them. It was fun to do a sort of reverse Halloween. There was no trick or treating (except going to two of our friends’s homes to share our sweets), and no more than hats as costumes. But there was lots of candy for everyone, some music, dancing and laughter. It was fun.
This year, we had spider webs around the house. Pumpkin carving, sweets and goodies, and our annual making of the costumes.
We got together with some friends, one of them we’ve seen (be born) and grow up. Our kids are growing up together and it’s so much fun to see them have fun.
And we had an even better surprise, when we had Glendie come from Idaho for few days, and got to go trick or treating even after her long 10-hour drive. Someone so special to us, I’m glad we got to spend few days together.
