Water testing

On our walk last month, we noticed a staff from the city testing the water in the river.

He said, they test for E. coli in the water every week, and these results go online usually that same day or next.

He said, the E. coli  found is mostly from the ducks.  I thought that was so interesting.

He showed us a little bit how he does this work, all the places he visits for this report, and why it is important.  It was a brief water quality lesson impromptu with a focus on real life.  Oh, the beauty of homeschooling.

Teachable moment on a silver platter. Wonderful. Sounds like you had a great day.
