spring is like summer

The other day, we had few sunny days, and my kids kept saying “it’s like summer!” as they took their socks off, and took their layers of clothes off, and dug deeper in their drawers for shorts and skirts to wear.  For them this day was summer.

So I made sun tea.  That’s summer-like, Right?  They had the energy to run around all day, bare feet, with friends coming and going, quickly turning into an evening event too.  A quick visit after breakfast, turned into lunch, and playing catch, and tag, and hide and go seek, and making ice cream (really!), and having a quick dinner so we can then end our summer day with a movie showing outside with more friends.

The first summer all-day play date of the year with a whole lot of fun.  I know more are coming our way!  It is so much fun.

Wow, you brought out all the tricks at once! Sounds like a great day. Feeling almost summery here also – shorts and t-shirt for the run today!

    • Oh good, Katie. I’m glad is feeling lighter on your part of the world too. It does feel good to leave the sweaters and heavier clothes on the side for a while.
Well? My kids on their own did all the summer things. We just enjoyed watching them come up with them.

Now that was a grand day! It has been feeling like summer here too, unfortunately I haven’t had time to go to the beach, my favorite place.

    • I know Tracey. What a fun day it was. I love seeing all the kids smile, laugh so loud out there, come and go, and feel like they can finally do all these summer things they’ve been waiting for so long. They reported being the longest day they’ve had in a long while. And yes it was.
I hope you get to go to the beach soon. I’ve been looking at your photos and it’s looking a lot warmer in your side of the world too. Thanks for coming to visit. Have a great start of your week.
