After going up to Mt Hood to get out wild Christmas Tree, we decorated it. I love this time of the year. I like having our tree and the lights.
Growing up in Chile, South of the Equator, we had a summer Christmas. Though I have beautiful memories, they are very different from what I’ve experienced in these past 18 years, of winter holidays.
Having Santa walking in the beach with shorts, a red short-sleeve jacket, and a hat, wasn’t the typical Santa I had seen in photos.
Even though I have my own little summer Santa these days… Lucas wearing shorts and t-shirts since June, and now he’s been wearing this Santa hat most days… takes me back and I love it!
Each year we tell the stories again as we remember them. These are the ornaments Siena and Lucas made for three years in a row, to give to grandparents and for us to keep. It’s fun to find them each year.

And each year, I also give each an ornament to add to their collection, remembering something special from that year.
Though a little blurry, I love their face expressions… my favorite time of the year!
