Seattle : the aquarium

After going on a ride in the big wheel in Seattle, having lunch and riding the carousel, we walked on the waterfront, and headed to the aquarium.

I love this part of this aquarium (as well as the ours in Newport)… being able to touch and be so close to all these creatures.

I could have stayed here for hours.

They are so delicate.  When I was in college, taking Marine Biology, this was my first (science) love. And I stayed longer in class, and went to the lab more often, just to watch them and study them a little more. For months.

Who would have though that 22 years later I would see a medusa as cute as this one! And on the whole other side of the world.

And this Giant Pacific Octopus.  At about 90 pounds and something like 14 feet (front one tip to the next), is the most active one I’ve ever seen.

We got tired a little, and rested. There was so much to see.
